Post Orange peel?

a co-worker of mine last summer said its good for horses to eat orange peel because it gives them a mineral in their diet that they don't normally get (what it was, i've forgotten). Does anyone know if that is true? whenever i have an orange for lunch, i always save the peel and feed it to Coco. Can't hurt to try it, right?

I feed my horses orange and tangerine slices, I haven't fed the peel but I don't think it would hurt?

I would be worried about waxes and insecticides on the peel. You'll notice if you ever get orange peel in your mouth, you can really taste the chemicals.
