Opinions on studs.

Am I allowed to ask for opinions on certain studs. And give links to their websites. I am looking to breed my mare next year and I always like to hear others opinions on the studs I am considering. I can never make up my mind on these things. Plus with gas so expensive now I would like to take some studs off my list so I don;t have to be drving all over california when I go see them in person lol. If its ok Ill just make another post with the ones I am considering.

Sure! It's totally ok! What breed is your mare and what breeds of studs are you looking at? I'm in CA also.

I just saw you have a APHA mare. She's really pretty! What part of CA are you looking in?

Are you wanting to breed to an Overo or Tobiano?

Well I think I am going to make another post on the studs I am looking at. I am in central california. Up in the foothills east of the fresno area. Well I would love to breed her to something Homozgous (Sp?) but I have yet to find something I love that is close enough to me. She is breed for halter (she didnt make a good one though) and speed but she makes a great reiner. Since she is not breed for reining I thought Id breed to something with reining, cutting bloodlines. I really just want a versatile foal. I am not really interested in color but I prefer tobiano. That would be awsome but I am really paying attention to a proven stud with awsome bloodlines. So QH's are ok.

I have a friend that has a double registered APHA/AQHA doc gunsmoke stallion. He is really nice! She lives in Fresno. I went to state, so know a lot of people there. I don't think she has a website that I know of, but I can find out if you are interested. He does cutting, and I think some reined cow horse now. Also, Street Legal is in Sanger.

He is near me about 2 hrs from you, but not a bad drive. I really like him!!

Also up here, http://www.coyotecreekcuttinghorses.com/

I can not find the website for Street legal, I know he is in Sanger. Maybe ask around, i'm sure someone in the area knows. Maybe at the Hay company, they know a lot of people!

LOL! I have a cutting horse from the wards. They have really nice studs. Also, check out Beals QH, not sure what stud they have now days. They are out on Acadamy and Bullard.

I will find out about my friends stud, I sent out an email to see if she has a website. I'll post once I find out anything. I haven't seen her in a while, I think she's been hitting the AQHA circuit since she has him double registered now.

I forgot about these guys! Awesome place. I drooled the whole time I was there!

also about 2 hrs from fresno. Unfortunatley, there isn't much in fresno. The whole time I lived in fresno, I drove up here to take lessons with a cutting trainer. Ironically, I ended up moving in down the road from him a couple years later!

Yeah I don;t mind driving around the central valley alittle I just don;t want to cross the grape vine or go any higher then sacromento. I love mater jay, dually pep, and a cowboy at heart. I am actually going to call them tomarrow to find out more information and to see if I can come out to see them. They are further then what I wanted to go but might be worth a look if I don;t find anything at ward ranch. Thanks so much for the link.
