open sale threads

Not complaining or anything, just curious. Why are they not allowed any longer? Some (the tack ones especially) were extremely helpful (to me anyway). Is it just because there were so many of them? Or was there another issue?

It's difficult at times to search through the classifieds when you're looking for a specific thing as many people post their 'sale' threads with everything grouped together making it impossible to include everything in the title. So while I may be looking for a snaffle bit, I'll have to wade through 1/2 the threads posted in classifieds when only 1/10th of them even have a bit in them at all.

Again, not complaining, just curious.

We had complaints and concerns about items listed for sale or trade listed in the open thread.
A person searching for a particular item is forced to read through an entire thread checking to make certain an item sought was not hidden in an open thread.
Once listed in an open thread a seller or buyer was forced to constantly search the thread for updates, replies or interest in an item.
In a way the open threads negated the intent of the Classified section where individual items or members selling several items kept the merchandise/transactions bundled in a neat little package.

I guess that kind of makes sense.

Though I do wish that there was an easier way to search through the classifieds.

All in all, I'm just glad that we have the section period.

A multi-category Classifieds would be AMAZING. Not sure how easy it'd be to do and maintain, but I think I'd be extremely helpful and far more organized. That's my little suggestion

ditto on the multi-section classified ad area. don't have to break it down too deep, but if you go English/Western/Misc would at least be a good start for now....

I would like to see the Classifieds Forum broken down to one for Equestrian Tack/Equipment and one for Horses.
Just dividing it into those two sections would make me more than happy!
