Kissitgoodbye - I love the looks of your boy, too. He's a handsome one.

Skinfaxi -LOL, yep, agree with the needing more exercise look. But remember, when these boys were around horse nutrition was nothing like it is today. Deffinately makes a difference. And Peter McCue was a running sun of a gun, but threw babies that were so much more in the looks department than he was and they all had the abiliy and work ethic. I love looking back at the pictures and learning the history behind the QH as a breed. Gives you an entirley different perspective of the breed as a whole.

what a wonderful thread!!

nothing i love more than talking about a lovely QH!!!!

i would def have to say i lovee a "old style" stocky cow bred QH..thats the TRUE qh..

but it still depends on what disipline i want to do..
i ride western and english.and i have a foundaton bred QH and she literally DOES IT ALL..
jumps,ropes,barrels,cuts..etc..

i just love foundtion QH...cause in foundation you dont really see the shorter compacted qh,and you dont see a TB looking horse either.
perfect
sorry havnt put better pictures without winter coat up yet.

I like the bull dogs, with the big jaws and small ears, more mucle, this is still what I look for in a quarter horse.
