| Senior Member+ | Old Dusty Hay, Come and GET IT!
Okay I just saw this post on a website. It is really confusing me. "i have loose hay i might have a bale or two in the stalls,( i have about 3 square bales in the stalls and a few in the hay loft. Old dusty hay need to remove it. I have a hay loft and some stalls full of this hay. Hay is really dusty and has been sitting up there for years. Also horse manure to be removed." Okay I just dont get it. Am I missing something? Why would ANYONE want old dusty hay? Really really old dusty hay? Is there some purpose for it that I just don't understand? Or is this person expecting some person will actually buy this and feed it to their horse? Is it maybe for decomposing? Hay doesnt decompose well though, does it? *CONFUSED* |

The add itself is pretty poorly written. They state that they have hay in the stalls and hay loft three different times. I am not really sure what the deal is.

I have people asking me for old hay. They use it in covering bare ground when they plant seeds. It keeps erosion down. On old hay like what is mentioned in the add, the strings are probably rotten. Because of the environmental laws passed over the past few years, there is a big market for poor quality hay. It is just going to be spread out over the ground so quality does not matter.

Its proabably very suitable for mulch in the garden. A lot of feed stores here sell the old/slightly mouldy feed hay as mulch hay at a much reduced price.
