Mare: APHA Triples Best Dancer
2001 Sorrel sabino breeding stock
Van Bar Titan x Drifting Dancer
bred to Clayboys Pepperjack

-Bought as a weanling Oct. '01.
-Planned breeding
-Do know the stud, belongs to my best friends parents. He's very quite, a real gentleman, and super friendly. His barn name is Pepper, but he was given a new nickname last year by a friend of theirs, so now he's quite often called Antonio (as in Banderas) .
-As of today (26th), she is 78 days from her approx. due date (340 days from last day bred), due about May 14.
-I'M hoping for a healthy filly, overo/sabino, preferably black with blue eyes like daddy, however this foal belongs to my friend, .
-I have no say as to what is done with this foal though as it belongs to my friend (daughter of stud owner's).
I was given a free breeding to her stud in 2004, in exchange for her breeding my mare to one of her family's studs for a foal for herself. She plans on keeping it, no matter what the gender, will train and most likely show it, and if a filly, possibly breed later on; if a colt, depends on whether or not she decides to geld (which is always a possibility). She doesn't plan on selling it, but if she ever does, I am hoping to buy it back in that case.

Clayboys Pepperjack (Clayboy x Jessies Lucky Star)

(pictures from later winter/early spring '07, was a coming 3yr old @ time these were taken)

She was "rescued" pregnant.

Kind of, more like the guy was just stupid!

-Was it a surprise that she is pregnant?:
Yes

- Do you know the daddy?:
I've seen him, he isn' t horrible, but he isn't anything special.

-How much longer do you think it'll be for your foal?:
A good five or six months

-What are you expecting/hoping for?:
I'm just hoping for a healthy foal and a safe delivery.

-What are planning on doing with your foal?:
Have no idea yet!

-was your mare purchased or given to you already pregnant?
I purchased her last May and she was already pregnant.

-Was it a surprise that she is pregnant?
Sort of a surprise. The previous owner had bred her but wasn't sure if she got pregnant. I had an ultrasound performed right after buying her and she was confirmed in foal.

- Do you know the daddy?
Yes, I know the daddy. He's an own son of High Brow Hickory.

-How much longer do you think it'll be for your foal?
Very soon. She was acting very suspicious today, according to my husband. I think she's just playing games with us

-What are you expecting/hoping for?
I would like a little filly. But if it's a colt, that's great too.

-What are planning on doing with your foal?
Eventually training, probably try a little bit of everything. No big plans, but just have fun doing it.
