You're doing a good job, hopefully on the home stretch. Your mare is fine, up, and walking around--that's good.

I didn't want to scare you, but I don't want you on permanent foalwatch either. You are doing all you can, we are all so proud of you here on the forum. Just a couple more hurdles and you are done!

Probably not. You see I didn't want to have to deal with a pregnant mare but when we bought her the owners weren't quite sure if she was or not and my husband saw a deal. I loved the horse from the moment I saw her and she only cost me $400 so my husband said well if she is then we have 2 horses for the price of one and he knew how bad I wanted a horse, not knowing of course what layed ahead.

She's gonna have it when she has it. As long as she's eating and drinking everything should be fine. You got your stuff so your ready. Take a deep breath and chill. Your gonna get through this and we're all behind you.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think what really got to me was lastnight, there was an aquaintance at the auction barn I work at on Thursdays and he asked me if we had a foal yet, well the vet, my vet just happen to be there and I said no and they started talking about my impending foal and the aquaintance said "Oh I see a C-section coming" and I freaked. I said what my horse, the vet kind of looked at me like don't listen to him. Knowing that what ever this aquaintance says needs to be taken with a grain of salt. But since hearing that I have been on the verge of crying (I cry at Hallmark commercials) cuz I don't want anything bad to happen to her nor the foal but I think I can handle losing the foal if thats what happens but to lose my mare I don't know if I could handle that.

I think we are all thinking the same as you KatyLynn. That's why we have been so pesty about it. I lost my mare last year and left me with a foal. It was no doubt the most stress I have ever been through in my life. Loosing a best friend and gaining a little guy that really needed me.

We aren't trying to scare you I think all of us have just witnessed what can go wrong in a foaling and throwing out all the thoughts.

We can ALL sympathize with you and you're doing a WONDERFUL JOB! Keep your chin up!

mother nature is the only thing that will say when the baby is going to arrive....as long as the mare is eating healthy and nothing has changed health wise for the worse just be patient and be there for your mare.......dote on her with warm sponge baths and massages.....the baby will be here don't worry....keep your head up! =)
