Ok now I'm really worried about prego mare ****updated mare pictures***

I started a new thread as the other one was getting pretty big. Thank all of you who are watching. I know now I'm not the only one sitting on pins and needles. Here are pictures I took last Friday.

Still no baby!? Poor girl! In those first two pictures she looks like I did when I was two weeks overdue... 'Get this thing outta me!!...Please?' Hopefully she'll foal soon, how over is she now?

Well on August 2nd I had the vet out to palp her and he told me she had 2 mos to go. Well guess what 2 mos has come and gone. And now we just wait on pins and needles.

Was your vet really familiar with repro? Your mare doesn't look THAT big, our mares normally get bigger then her.

The vet should have been able to tell you when she checked her if the foal was alive. I wouldn't worry too much, it's possible that your vet was just off, mares foal when they are ready

Not worried any more just waiting with anticipation. The baby is alive we can feel it moving. We bought her bred and the old owners weren't sure when she was bred. That is why I had the vet come out and give me an approx due date.

Most horses are bred from February to May. So not knowing WHEN she was bred...you have anywhere from January to April left to "worry".

I would call a repro specialist before ******** out even more.

We bought her February 4th. So it was before then. And back in April is when her belly started getting bigger.

And he didn't know when she was bred?

So she is basically due anytime between now and February 4th.

There seems to be a trend (ill have to pull the article I recently read) that more and more horses are going full 12 months. So I would give her till the middle of January before inducing unless you can pinpoint dates better.

And a Repro Specialist is someone you really should look into talking to.
