Well first of all you can't call someone born and raised in the Carribean an African American. And I happen to know an awful lot of Mexican's who are more white than me, so saying that you can tell where someone is from based on the color of their skin is totally wrong. I believe Sarah Palin's husband has a good dose of Eskimo in him but sure doesn't look it. I believe the phrase is you can't judge a book by it's cover?

I need to say something because Palin drove me nuts with all the "eskimo's" thrown around.

It's debatable, but widely believed that eskimo can be percieved as a deragatory term. It's fallen out of favor.

Inuit, Inupiaq, Yupik-all better terms though more specific to region

Having close ties with the Baffin Island region through an climate oriented exchange program with my high school I found that nearly all the students from Baffin found it to be slightly offensive.

Sorry, I just had to add my two cents.

As for the election, woooo Obama, and sorry to anyone who feels this isnt the best direction for the country. I can't judge harshly because I would probably feel the same if the tables had been turned.

You must admit-the republicans have accepted this alot better than the Dem's did the last 2 elections-talk about sore loosers!
Making states do recounts, holding up the decision for days before knowing who won? And you tell us to 'accept it'. I believe we're doing so alot more gracefully than any Dem.

Why? are we no longer allowed free speech? I don't like him I never have, and never probably will. I don't trust him, and I am afraid for this country.

I am reading on page 3.

Even thou I am not an American, I was glued to your election. In fact, I was somewhat obsessed I think!

I am looking forward to seeing what you all thought back then.

How do you all feel now?

Has anything changed or happened since the election???

Yup! All the political ads permeating TV and radio went away.

Um, if you recall, Obama won by a landslide. Gore v. Bush was down to a few thousand votes. There was no winner until the Supreme court decided on Bush. Making sure every vote is counted has nothing to do with being a sore loser, and everything to do with doing what is right and just.

How blessed I feel to live in my country and I WILL support Obama and I DO wish him well even if I didn't vote for him, in the end, the ONLY thing that matters to me is security, safety and stability for my childrens future, if he can bring it great, if not, 2012 will be another shot at "change" lol
Great post! I have so much respect for people that can post like this!
