Unhappy Not my normal self...

Today, I've been in a very off mood... Just not my normal, talkative, happy self.

I'm just kinda mopey (sp?), not wanting to do much... No clue why, today wasn't a bad day at all. I just feel alone kinda. Here I am at college and I'm missing my friends who are off at college also, or who are back home. I miss my mom who now has an empty nest... I have great friends up here, love them all to death. I have Ollie up here, thank God for that! I love it up here, but I'm just not myself today...

I do have great friends here, but it's not the same right now... You know? I just kinda need someone to talk to and my close friends that I've known for awhile aren't around...

I don't know if I feel bad that my mom now has an empty nest and is living with my dad alone, who isn't very nice to her, that I wish my very close friends were here...

I feel like I want to cry, but I'm not...

This is really just a vent kind of thing... Just needed to let it out...

We all have days like that. I know exactly how you feel. I just moved from Iowa to Indiana around a month ago. I miss my friends horribly. So I'm feeling for you! Call one of your friends and talk to them or something.

Aww... it takes time develop meaningful friendships. Just put yourself out there and remember pretty much every other freshman feels like you do right now. Some may be doing way worse and could really use a kind, not-superficial person like you as a friend!

Are you living in the dorm? Do you have an R.A.? Sometimes RAs can make awesome people to sound off to or just to talk to.

You freshman headed of to college this year are making me SO jealous. I'm 2.5 years out and still feel like my "life" is back there on campus, sometimes. The friends you make in college will be the friends who mean the most and the friends you keep for life.

Aw, thanks so much Miss B.

Lindsayanne, I live in a dorm. I'd feel odd going to my RA though... lol.

I decided to call my mom not to long ago just to talk. Told her I was feeling down... I broke into tears every now and then, she didn't know though. When she thought I was I just told her my nose was stuffed up, which it is...

The sad thing is on the phone, there was a lot of silence. Like we had nothing to talk about... I'm very close to my mom, and I feel like I'm losing that...

No hon you aren't loosing that That comfortable silence is something that happens when you can just sit there and connect with each other even though you don't have a word to say.

It wasn't really a comfortable silence though... More like a awkward "no one has anything to say to me" silence... lol.

RA's are PAID to listen to residents whine! If you don't like your RA, go talk to another floor's RA. I had a great relationship with a few of my RA's so just wanted to suggest it. At my college they *got* the job because they were outgoing and genuine and wanted to help new student adjust.

Does your dorm have a lounge? When I was feeling lonely I'd just go watch whatever movie someone had on in the lounge.
