Not good news at the vet! Uh-Oh **Update in original post, good news**

***Edited To Add: Thank to the help of ACC we found out that she is four years old, not a yearling, but I left the original post alone, so it still says yearling.***

Ok, so those of you that saw my post in chat about the new perlino gelding and baby mare. Today we had a vet appointment to get all thier shots and stuff done, because we didn't know what they had or didn't have. When we got these horses, which you can read about in my chat post, we were told the bay mare was 3 and broke to ride, and that she had been exposed to the guys app stud. Well today at the vets, they looked at her teeth for her coggins, and said she is..................................
A YEARLING!!!!! They said she is like 20 months old at the oldest!
That's not the worst news, since she had been exposed to the stud, we went ahead and let them palpate her, and she is also..........................
FIVE MONTHS or so PREGNANT!!!!

Poor, poor baby having a baby. Originally she was going to be a fatten up and resale project, but now we have figured that we need to keep her and try and get her healthy and have her for the foal, then work on finding a home when baby is weaned. The guy we got her from said he owned her for about 8 months, meaning he had to have known how old she was, but under the conditions we got them, I can see him lying just to lie.

We got one of those exact same projects last spring! Although ours was covered in ticks and wormy, wormy. We didn't know she had been exposed though and about 3 weeks later, around her second birthday, she dropped a beautiful chestnut filly on the ground that eventually turned bay roan. Thankfully, they were both ok. Baby Velvet is 9 months old, straight as an arrow and an abslolute pleasure to be around. We saw her born, imprinted her, halter within a week, pick up feet, trailer, pat all over and she is just great. I'm not sure what our future plans are for her. I've been trying to get my daughter to do 4H Colt to Maturity with her, but she has her hands full with hers and her dad's horse I'd like to keep her, but my hubby is looking for good homes for her and her Welsh//QH momma

Good luck with yours!

Ummm, I'm home by myself and would have to hold the camera and open her mouth, which she doesn't like, but I can try when I go out to feed her.

Yeah, well hopefully this poor thing will be ok. She is wormy as well, and very thin, but not fungus, ticks, etc.

ACC- Her teeth look closest to this, but that last incisors are not quite that grown in yet.

somepeople just blow my mind!!! The dishonesty these days is just so shocking. What were they thinking to let a baby run with the stud!!! I hope all goes well with this baby and her baby.
Good luck!!! It sounds like she has found a very loving and caring home!!!

So your saying the "corners" (the literal last incisors) are not even close to touching each other when her mouth is closed?
