Sorry this is a little bit of a vent, im SO fed up with my work. I work at a "convient" store called Wawa, Im sure a few people on here have heard of it. I LOVE to work at Wawa..I really enjoy my job, I'm a hard worker also. I've been working for the past 7 1/2 months at my wawa. And since all the college kids have left we have hired ALOT of new people so I'm one of the people who have been working there the longest. Well School is comming around and my manager PROMISED us Kids that have been here the longest that we'd get the most hours. Ends up he is a HUGE Liar. I use to get around 28-30 hrs a week. During school thats too much..so probably 23 would be perfect. This past Month i've been getting 12-16 hours a week. It's completey ridiclous and is making me VERY mad. I've talked to him several times saying, Please give me more hours..and sometimes even demanding it. I went today and found out my schudule next week i have 14 hrs..and my firend whose been there for 1 1/2 years doesnt even have ANY HOURS!! Also a girl whose only been working there for 2 months has 21 hours!!! So i've decided tmrw morning I will go to a different wawa and transfer just because of these hours..plus im SO sick of my manager - I know they're will be people in life like that..but it wont be hard to transfer. ERR!! I wouldnt be making such a big deal about it..but i really need hte money right now esc with monthly car payments. Sorry its long - do you think i have a reason to be upset??

I think you do. Senior workers should have more seniority with hours and whatnot. Where I work now, I just went in about a month ago. Already I've bumped a few senior workers from all their hours, but that's because they're going back to school and I am not in school. Managers will give people the hours that can work the most. If there's someone working there who isn't in school, then they're probably going to get the most hours. =( |

at my old job, i was working part time and i expected to only have about 15 hours a week. well, by the end of my time working there, i was getting maybe 4 hours a week. a couple weeks i didn't have any. i didn't like the job though, and i wasn't good at it. i ended up quitting.
