Talking Not bad for homemade :)

I decided to try my hand at making a saddle pad. What do you think of my first try?

Total materials cost was about 20-25 bucks. (would've been cheaper if I picked a less expensive material.)

It has a tapestry top layer, batting in the middle and a cotton underneath. It is all quilted together. It also has girth and billet loops, satin edge binding and nylon webbing spine reeforcement.

I didn't like the way the trim on the edges ended up all frilly on the backside so I took it off, and I'm going to try again.

I have had that happen to me with the trim..
Try and get something different than satain.
There are other thin ribbon type stuff that I have found work a lot better.
There is stuff that is ribbed.. and that i found works the best!

Good job!!

Great job I bet that the tapestry will hold up well - worth the extra $$ if it lasts longer
