maybe, i dunno,LOL, but if i ask when i take her in for her shot,LOL, i won't get charged a vet bill.........LOL. so i have to take her in this weekend, so i will just ask then.

If you really want me to i can run out to my barn and take pics of all the mares utters, lol non of them are baged one has mastitis scar tissue....

lol, you can if you like, someone had sent something on the other as to what they are supposed to look like, so now it's worrying me that for some reason she won't produce right, ot something is wrong.

at the same time im sure ever nipple looks diffrent from breed to breed and horse to horse.......i might motivate my self depends how much snow is sticking.... i need to get power steering fluid any ways... i think its mt in my car

When in doubt have your vet out, no matter the price, by looking at your pics, and looking at my maiden mare, and my mares, it looks like the bag that has already produced looks fine and pretty even...But her nipples do look different, but, being she is maiden, and her nipples are not full could be why they look the way they do. Is her bag hot?

I have a old mare here, that has been bagged up since Dec 12th. We have owned her for a year. She was not bred when we bought her, but had a coming yearling on side. Previous owners said she foaled fine, but more talking we did with them we had came to the conclusion that they had not had a lot of experience with foaling mares out. Anyway, brought her home covered her, she came open 21 days later, due to her being 20, we just figured that she had shut down...We were wrong. I had vet out last spring to palpate her, he said she appears empty, that was the first part of April of 04. Come along December 04 we were mighty suprised that she started to bag, I assumed false pregnacy, until I could easily see/ feel the foal move and kick. The reason why we thought it was false pregnacy is because of her continuing heat cycle all the way through!! We do not know for sure when she is going to foal, it has to be soon, her milk veins are starting to fill up along her belly, but she is not soft around her doc of her tail. Thought I would share...

nope, her bag isn't hot, and she's not leaking or oozing anything out, so i ruled out mastitis. and her bag doesn't look like any of the mastitis pics i have seen. i dunno, my husband's step dad had horses for a while, adn he thinks that her nipple is just drawn up for now til closer time for baby to drop. i may be wrong, but i dunno. i will definately have the vet look anbd give me his opinions though when i take her in
