Exclamation Normal?

I feel so sorry for my mare shes almost about 11 months in and her foal is throwing a party. EVERY time I go out to the barn our her belly is going crazy with the foal bouncing around inside. I mean I'll sit there and watch her and it will litteraly shake her whole body and its got to the point where shes very sore-I was brushing her yesterday and when I brushed her belly she flinched her back did a divet and she looked at me like if I touch her again Im going to eat hoof and fast so I tried it again and got the same reaction. Is it normal to have this much activity.
Her last foal you were able to occasionaly feel the foal move but this one I don't even have to feel I can see it making faces at me. This late in the game why is the foal moving soooooo much?

Wow, that EXACTLY describes what was happening in my mare. Literally making her sway while it was having running practice in mom and also making her back go up and down. It was amazing!! You could easily see it doing its gymnastics from a few feet away in the pasture! I felt bad for my mare and feel for your girl. That has to be uncomfortable. But, for the last week and half, the only movement I see is light bouncing from kicking in her lower belly right by her udder. I couldn't find my sony digi at the time she was having all the "belly action" and was bummed because I wanted to video that action.

Good luck with your baby!!

I can actually respond to this thread having gone through the bouncing baby syndrome. When Yankee was about and between 10 months up until just recently, her foal would move vigoriously also. Yes, so much I thought it was abnormal also. Especially when it was at the bottom bouncing her like a balloon. I think a great sign of a lively healthy foal coming.
