There are no addictive ingredients in chap stick. It is a myth.

It dries it out like a salve And yes it works. Good old white paste. Toothpaste also makes a good nail hole filler for your walls before painting

It's not the ingredients that become addictive, it's the effect that does.

Hummm.....

If you get a burn, do NOT put butter on it. Same goes for the other "oldtime remidies". They just seal the heat in and make things worse.

Before putting anything on your face for skin problems, SCRUB really hard with normal soap and a towel that has a little "traction". Acne is caused by the buildup of leukocytes, and if you can get the dirt/oil out BEFORE the leukocytes build up, you wont have that problem.

Same goes for popping them... just DONT do it. Infection waiting to happen. However, if one DOES pop, DONT TOUCH! Wash immediatley as discribed above.

Run a dryer sheet over spraightened hair to get rid of static. Works SO well.

Apple Cider vinegar on sunburns helps take away the sting. However, you'll end up smelling like an overgrown french fry.

Lavender oil or honey are great for bee and wasp stings as well as ant bites.

It's not addictive in the true sense, like say nicotine is - you can of course stop using lip balm at any time.

It is addictive in the sense that you need to keep using it else your lips will chap! I have experienced this many times. Use a lip balm - lovely lips Loose it, lips turn to pie. Lips get over having 'lip moisture' applied and start producing their own again.

The petroleum products in alot of chapsticks can also actually help dry out your lips causing you to want to put more on. Bees wax based chapsticks are less likely to increase chapping problems than petroleum based.
