If you get some loose salt/mineral you could when she is in just putting in her feeder right after she finnishes eating and see if she likes it. What I do with mine is the have mineral/salt blocks in the pasture. I always like to make sure they are getting enough so right after I feed I dump some in each of their feeders and they eat it. Just a thought.

My gelding wouldn't touch a salt block that was mounted on the wall either, so I put it in his corner feeder and he's been licking it (which I'm assuming happens when he eats his grain).

My mare never seems to lick her block, but she is on a complete feed for seinor horses, so she may be getting what she needs from that....on the other hand, the draft that have and the mini, love the salt/mineral block...Cathy

well i had it mounted on the wall.
and then i got one of those LIK-ITS and it hangs about 2 feet away from her feed bin.
i dont want to put salt in her feed bin because it seems to me like it is force feeding it.
idk.
but idk if she is getting enough threw her grain or if she needs more.
she eats a 12% grain mix...and strategy. oh and she gets milk plus.

SHE IS NOT A LICKER.
she has never licked me.
or much of anything for that matter.

As stated before, get a loose salt product that is not flavored in any way. If she needs it, she'll eat that.
