Angry No saddle will fit this horse! UPDATE I am PO'ed

So I just bought my new barrel saddle today! A Tex Tan Full QH bars 15" seat NBHA barrel saddle! I LOVE it! BUT it doesn't fit Trix that well, it fits better then my old saddle though. I put a towel under and that made it fit much better. I swear NO saddle fits this mare But I am going to keep the saddle and get a riser pad because then it would fit. I have tried every type of tree

It's been awhile since I've seen pics of Trix, but she seems way, way too narrow to be appropriate for full qh bars.

Be careful getting a riser pad. What will likely happen (given your horse's build) is that it will feel in the space at the front of the saddle and lift it up. But it will lower the back of the saddle and cause it to dig into her back. It would be better to simply use a thicker pad.

She has gained alot of weight and even more muscle So her build has changed. I have tried Semi on her and that was WAY to small and narrow for her. Actually, the back of the saddle is off of her back so I was thinking that the riser pad would help lift off the front and make it even in the back.

PLUS I can't return the saddle, so I am stuck with a saddle that I love but doesn't fit my horse and I that I have to sell ASAP! I am so ****** mad and so is my dad. So if anyone is interested in a brand new 15" Tex Tan NBHA barrel saddle PLEASE pm me! =)

What about one of those Flex tree saddles? Or is barrel racing too intense for something with a flexible tree?

You say the Semi QH is way too small, have you tried a Draft saddle or a small draft?
I had the same problem and my girl is only 14 2. The semi quarter horse saddle looked like trying to squeeze a narrow thimble over a giant's thumb. The Full QH also sat up off the back too high too. Only a draft worked and left room for a nice extra thick cushy pad to even things out. Your girl's body looks familiar...like my girl's body. I call it a build like a 55 gallon drum.

It is worth a try. If all else fails, you can get a treeless.

Perhaps invest in a treeless? A good treeless will fit almost any horse, the only problems some horses will have is with the stuffed pommel, but you can usually take out the fiber glass or whatever it's stuffed with and stuff it with foam. That along with correct pads for a treeless [spinal clearance] they are pretty awesome.

I just don't know if I would like the feel of a tree-less though Plus I don't know how one WOULD feel as I have yet to ride in one or even see one in Temecula lol
