Newbie in NC

Hello all! My name is Shay and I am new to the forum. I am pleased to have found an active equine forum!!

I live in North Carolina. I am in a little bitty country place called 'Collettsville'. It is between Lenoir and Blowing Rock (basically right in the foothills of the northwestern mountains of NC).

I am married to a wonderful guy that 'puts up' with my horsie hobbies!
We have a 6 y/o daughter that loves horses.
I am a teacher for Caldwell Co. and my husband owns his own construction company. We also do pony party rides on the weekends.

We have five horses at the moment.
1 reg Buckskin mare (Maggie) that I have had for 13 years.
1 Appy/Paint pony mare (Josie) that is my daughters.
1 reg Miniature Horse stud paint (Boots) that is like a big baby to us.
1 Quarter Horse bay mare (Leigh) that I just got this year. She came from a questionable home and was nothing but bones. She had a 3 week old paint stud by her side when I found them and purchased them. I really just felt bad for them. She is soon for sale and I am keeping her boy.
...And the baby of the bunch... a 4 month old paint boy named Levi.

We also have one Miniature Pinscher dog that lives inside with us (he is like my second child ) .. and two mix hound dogs that we took in early this year.

Basically we have one big 'funny farm'!

You can find some pictures of our babies on our pony party website:

Hi! Nice to see someone close to me on the forum! I live in Blountville, TN about an hour from Lenoir, I am a teaching assistant in Behavior Mod and my husband is a Forman type fella on a Construction Company.

Oh and my son is named Josey.

Sorry I saw we had a lot in common!

Hope to see you around here!

Welcome to HGS! I live about 30 minutes south of Charlotte, but in a couple weeks I am heading up to college in High Point. Your pony parties look adorable..what a great little business to get into!

Welcome to the forum. Seems to be quite a few Carolinians on here. Although I still claim Mainer status.
