New Vocations Racehorse Adoption

New Vocations is the largest ex-racehorse adoption program in the country having adopted nearly 3,000 Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses to carefully screened and closely monitored homes since it's inception in 1992. Starting as a very small home run program that has grown into 4 large facilities that adopt out over 300 horses per year. Visit our website at www.horseadoption.com and please support our ongoing fundraising events!

I do have to say, I commend your organization for having "realistic" adoption prices!

I think ex-racehorse adoption is a great thing.
I have an ex-racehorse, that was at auction and about 400lbs underweight when I got him. He is the most wonderful horse you could ever want. And it is just ashame that when they cannot run anymore they are thown away like trash. I totally support your cause and I wish I could take in more. But at the moment I have 5 ( all from rescues or auction ) and they are all great horses. These poor horses make people money when they can. So they should all be taken care off after that. That is my optinion at least.
Keep up the good work. I will definitely keep your website to donate to when I can.

I just wanted to say that I have personally visited New Vocations and was very impressed with everything about them. The next time I am in the market for something, I will be looking there first.

Based off of the website, prices, and quality of horses, they look like a great organization. I plan on adopting an ex-racer in the future, and will definitely save their website. Thanks for posting!

I had been wanting to adopt from New Vocations many times, but the distance was too far. However, that was my first choice, as you guys do such a great job with everything.

Wow, I am impressed! Very nice! And great to see that there is a Michigan Facility!

Now we have another option, rather than Canter, who I don't always agree with

What a wonderful and well put together site! I looked on the success stories and recognized PDay...he raced here in Maryland... it's awesome to see him doing so well!

Great website. I have just started looking for a horse to do some jumping with. I am not sure if I am up for the rehab/training of a retired racehorse but maybe. The distance and cost involed to transport to NE would be something that could throw a wrench in the system.
