The best way to explain the Montreal's seat is kinda like a hammock. You have the two metal frame, which is the part that's on the horse, the wooden dowels, which is the bronze (I think) frame for the seat, and then the actual hammock, which is the seat itself. It's actually suspended above the horse's back.
