Not so much difficult. It just takes time to condition your body to relax enough to do it right. Don't expect to do it all the first time. Take it slow and biggest thing, RELAX!! And do enjoy every minute of it. Did you know that one hour of riding is the equivalent to one hours jogging?

It can get frustrating at times but as with anything, the more practice you get, the more fun it is. I started riding when I was 9 then stopped around 17 then just started again and boy was I sore! I wish I never stopped, Id likely be a very good rider by now. Oh well, enjoy yourself and have fun!

What are you going to be riding like in witch saddles?English or Western i ride mostly western when i was like age 3 and up to like age 6 i rode English small jumps but when we moved upstate everything changed its was all western up here so i changed to western and i love both types of riding but like scorpiobancs said the main thing is to enjoy every minute of it its supposed to be about you and your horse bonding and working as one together but to answer your question to me English and western cam really easy to me but i do know lots of ppl who say it was hard at first but if you can master working as one with you and your horse you will be fine! GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY YOU DONT RIDE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO YOU SHOULD RIDE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO! Good Luck And May Your First Ride Be A Happy And Wonderful One
Have Fun,
Marisa

Admittedly it can be difficult in the beginning as there is a lot to remember all at once, but it's a blast! Definitely a very rewarding sport. Just stick with it when you're frustrated, you'll pull through! And remember to respect your mount. He [or she] is the one hauling you and school horses especially seem to have infinite patience. Though that doesn't mean coddle them and let them get away with everything. Some beginners do that, but don't worry too much about it, just be sure to let them know who's riding who
Most of all though, just get out there and enjoy yourself! It's an amazing thing, so have fun with it

I found it very difficult when I first started (I was 8), and it is very physically hard. But so fun. And I love the challenge.

I hope you like it.
