new "Tacky Tack" pad pics, Casey LOVES it!

Ok, for those of you who know Casey, you know he is short backed, big barrel and NO withers lol Lately I have noticed my saddle seems to be slipping forward on him just enough that I think it was interfering with his shoulder movement. It doesn't help that his big sprung barrel tends to make the girth rest pretty forward and it has to be tight otherwise my saddle will just roll off of him lol

Anyways, Tom bought me a new pad for him for my birthday. Its called tacky tack It was odd looking to me at first but I love it! Its ever so slightly raised in the center along the spine and has a small amount of extra padding in front for where the withers are and where the tree/bars rest.

We put it on him today and it was instant obvious the differeence it made! You could rock the saddle and not knock it off without the girth done up even! So I rode him in the arena and he was ears forward, moving out and I even got him to canter in the arena which he normally doesn't seem to want to do!!

So, thought I would show some pics and ask if any of you have ever used a similiar pad?? I got him worked up into a sweat and it was the best sweat pattern I have ever seen on him, I'm just loving this pad!

so glad you found something that works! I had to get a pad, for english, SORT of like that... it was labeled an "eventing pad"... it has the little rubbery circle thingys on it... stopped my saddle from slipping.

BTW... is your saddle Treeless?

thanks guys It is made out of weird material but it is extremely light and I could not believe the instant difference in his movement and attitude when asked for a faster gait, it was unreal! you can't tell but its like a basket weave i guess you'd call it so theres holes all over it for ventilation too. I've never seen another one exactly like it which is why I'm hoping some of you have some input.
