New Standardbred

This is Henry, he's a 3yr old Standardbred gelding, a week out of racing work. He trialled without much success and he's more than happy to walk around the paddock looking for cuddles.

Here's a few pics, feel free to pull apart his conformation. Ignore the bum looking person holding him in the photos.

I do know he needs more condition on him, but he has just come out of full work from racing.

Any chance of resizing the pics? They're huge!

Well. Conformation wize, I can't really tell. Lacking condition, but as you said, thats just bcoz he's fully come out of racing work. Doesn't appear to have that much wither. Appears to have short legs, but that could just be the angle. Hindquarters look rather wonkey, but once again, could just be the pic. I'm not too good a confo tho. Rather sweet looking horse though. I love the color. With a bit of condition, i'd say he will turn out to be a rather nice horse. How tall is he?

Oooh, pretty, lol, i LOVE standardbreds! He looks beautiful, and with a bit of muscle etc he could become a really nice looking horse. He looks like he has a short back, long neck ( but i like the thickness) and big head but i still love him, lol. I'm not very good at critiqing confo so you'll have to excuse me, lol. It also looks like his hind legs come under him too far, but it may just be the pics. Anyway, probably all i just said is wrong, lol, but i tried my best.

He measured just a touch under 17hh this afternoon, and he's only 3 so has a bit more growing to do.

It was very hard to get photos, he kept following me around looking for a cuddle so I had to give mum a quick lesson on using the camera.
I know he's got a huge head, poor fella really has a typical boofy Standardbred head.
