I just bought my first brand squeakin' new western saddle and I was wondering what you guys do to help break in your new saddles. Should I oil it? Condition? Leave it alone?

Just use it. I leave my alone as long as possible. If its light colored be careful what you use on it, it might darken it.

Put corn starch or baby powder between the skirts to reduce the squeaking. I like to oil my new saddles thoroughly, but I was an English rider to start with and we like our leather nice and pliable
