New horse Shoer!

Wow, I love him.
First, Rio will be okay, we all have high hopes for him, he said that with time I might be able to ride him again,b ut Im not worried about that at all. He is going to changing his hoof slowly and taking lots of time with it.

Dolly, she was to good for him, she tried pulling away a few times, never have done this before, maybe she was just testing him or she was just grumpy. But her feet look good, this farrier's nails and the more expensive kind, my old farrier was using the cheap ones.

Twinkles-She was good, she is tiny so you can push her around. One of her hooves were deformed, but eh got that taken care of.

Jewel was good to, she is such a sweet girl.

He couldn't trim Smokey, he feet were to hard, he is coming back this Friday and his feet are getting soaked in mud.

Jazz, she already has tiny feet, never has been lame but her feet aren't the best. She pulled a shoe, taking 1/4 of her foot with it. The old farrier's nail were the cheap ones who take the hoof with them this farrier said that his nails were better and if the shoe gets caught on something, they should slip out leaving hte hoof behind. He put some putty stuff in the hole. The old farrier put a clamp and one of her back feet, we don't know why, he must have ran out of shoes or something. He really hammered it in. The farrier told us that it was going to take some of her hoof out, but we already knew that. And my moma sked the farrier who did it why he put a clamp on it, he said I don't do that, then she said well you did, and he said well that will be hard to get off. Anyways, the clamp took a huge chunk out, poor girl. Once I have my computer back, Ill try to get a picture , I saved the shoe. But he got a shoe back on and put some putty in the huge gap, you could see the nail going through. She won't be ridden for awhile, not until her feet grow out.

Overall, I really like like this farrier.
He is more expensive, I was payinng $105 for shoes, and then $35 for the first trimming and $30 for the rest. The new farrier is $120 for shoes and $40 for trimming, totally worth the extra money.

For those of you who don't know, I got mad at the old farrier, hitting my horse is not acceptable, especailly if the horse physically. I have nothing againist him as a person, but it was time to get a new farrier.

I'm glad you found a good one! I've been having problems with it, haha. Our next try is coming out Tuesday.

Hope he keeps on working out for you!
