Yeah, another milestone met. Another week and you'll have him house trained.

Update on Jasper

My farrier came out today and did Jaspers feet. Holy cow did Jasper put up a fight, but Dave used a rope, much like my father and grandfather had done when I was young. By the time he got to his back feet Jasper only struggled a little bit. Dave is so good with my mini and now Jasper!!

Jasper will probably go back to step one, but thats all cool. I am hoping by the time he comes out again in a couple of months I will have Jasper standing still for him.

Dave also told me I was doing a great job with him and he looked great, which really made my day!!

Maybe one day or year heheh I will be able to post pictures of Jasper pulling a cart!!!

I still think he looks like a mini, I know mine is about waist high, but with those pictures its hard to judge height.

Thank you Horse Mom! I already love him! He got a handful of mini marshmellows tonight for a treat hehehe.

He did better then I thought but dang it was hard watching it being done!!

I havent measured him yet. I need to get a measuring stick but hate paying so much for one when I will only use it once or twice!!

I will try and get him measured and see how big he really is, especially now since he got his feet done.

Just handling him everyday will help bring him around. Those little guys are all into selfpreservation. The more trust he developes, the better he'll get with the feet. Brushing and rubbing his legs, a bit at a time until he will let you touch him all over. Don't push, just as long as he'll tolerate and then back off. Rewards for good behavior. I've had good success with horses that didn't want feet touched with the pressure and release training. Most of mine will lift their feet as you reach for them.

MFTX4, thats what Ive been doing. Last night when I hand walked him and had to sit and rest my back a little he stood there , then all of a sudden he just took a few steps forward and let me kiss his muzzle!!
Good lord you would of thought I won the lottery!!! I cried big hehehe

Every day is getting better and better. He is still extremely head shy on the left side but will let me brush his back from that side.

He loves those treats, so have been giving him a taste of grain. He is going to be a easy keeper thats for sure!
