I so wish I could see the videos, but he looks great! How long of a lead did they send home with him? How was the facility?

This experience with him will just make it so much easier for the next one to adopt who might not be so easy to work with... Keep up the updates!

I think there are two types of horses that come from the BLM adoptions. The ones who view man as the enemy and avoid them at all costs and the ones who are so scared and confused they are looking for someone to trust, call friend and protect them. I think you got the later.

I too, look forward to his updates. He is a gorgeous boy, and I still think he has some spanish blood pretty close up in his gene pool.

I had to laugh on day 4 as the though of the eating beetles came across my mind......lol

He's very trusting of you. Takes everything in stride and is quick to see that whatever you throw at him, isn't going to hurt him.

Love the bathing part. Trying to drink the water was quite funny.

I provided the halter and leadrope. The lead was a 12' lead line..natural horsemanship style. The halter was nylon. I wasn't sure about whether or not to put the halter on him...it wound up being a non-issue though. I took the halter off the first day and have never had any issue catching him.

He was also at the holding facility for like 20 months so he had some time to realize that humans bring him food and don't hurt him. I have to believe that this helped out too. The facility was huge. They took us around in a golf cart to the different pens. In every case we had at least half the herd nuzzling us / trying to eat the golf cart / following us etc.
