Christy's schedule from AC4H can be hectic. On Mondays she's at New Holland all day processing horses that have been bought from brokers and/or adopted. Tuesdays she is at brokers taking photos and videos. Best bet is to fax if possible the horse(s) you are interested in, include their number and/or page listing. This seems to work the best. Good luck there are some nice horses listed.

You just never know what the brokers will do, I'm amazed the aged Hackney pony is still available. Just keep spreading the word, there are a lot of nice horses. Come Winter there will be a lot of horses dumped at the auctions.

I just wish some of these auction places were closer to Ca or in Ca.

But maybe on the other hand I would become a hoarder! hehehe I want them all to love on!

I stopped going to the auctions around here for just that reason, SaddleTrail. They're going cheap and many of them only need some good grub and time. If I had more space, I'm afraid of what I might do.

The Roseville auction closed down. But out at Wilton are feed lots direct to slaughter. Totally illegal but police/sheriff can't be bothered. Joe from TB Friends tries to get horses out of the feed lots. This is where a lot of the cheap horses from the auctions end up before they head to NV then to Mexico. From the road you can't tell they are feed lots. Just makes me sick!!!!

I think I saw a feedlot on the way to Muncie.. there were about 20 horses packed into a dirt lot. There was a drive with a lot on one side and a seperate pen on the other side with about another 20 in it. All adults and looked abit thin.. I thought it was kinda odd to see that many horses packed into a little lot. I dont remember seeing a house.. and not really for sure that that's what it was.. but it looked odd.

There is no guarantee that any horse in a broker lot will go to slaughter. Brokers buy and sell horses for a living, often at auctions but not always. So there is a risk of a horse ending up at slaughter, but many find private homes either while at the broker lot or after being taken to auction.
