| Senior Member+ | Neoprene vs Leather English girths? Just wondering what you all use and which ones you prefer. I'm looking for a new English girth, and am trying to decide what material to get. I have a fairly limited budget, so I can't splurge for the finest leather out there. I also won't be showing. What are the pros and cons of each? Which do you use?

| Senior Member+ | I use a leather girth for my jumping saddle and a synthetic (Wintec) dressage girth. I honestly have no bad things to say about the neoprene girth and when I eventually need a new girth for my jumping saddle I just may go synthetic there too. |

What exactly are the benefits of neoprene? Just feeling it, it seems softer and more comfortable than leather.

| Senior Member+ | I have a shaped, waffle neoprene girth and I LOVE it...I love how easy it is to care for and the 'grip' factor means I don't have to girth as tight. Sweat also drips right through...

| Senior Member+ | I have the Classic Equine Soft Touch english girth and I love it! My horse chafes easily and he does not chafe at all with this girth. It stays very clean and so far has been great. My only complaint is that it is a little thick and if it's girthed up high with a jumping saddle can be a bit bulky under your leg.

| Full Member | I've seen more than one that have a reaction to the neoprene. I prefer fleece lined.. for schooling the Roma fleece lined cloth girths, and for showing the sheepskin lined leather girths. The Roma ones are like 20 bucks and you just throw them in the wash to clean them. I have 4 in various sizes. |
