| Senior Member+ | Need Some Opinions And Advice I have bought a weanling from a farm in Canada. I have knowen the farm owners for probably 7 yrs now. I have bought 3 other weanlings off of them at different times and have done really well with the weanlings I bought form them. And they always tell me how proud they are with how well I have raised the babies. Well this year when they bring me my baby they want me to take another baby and raise it and train it and sell it for them. They will set their price for the baby and anything extra I sell it for is mine. I also do not have to give them any money for the foal until it is sold. And they said if I do well with this one and if I feel like it is something I would like to continue to do they would send me 2 next year. This is something I have always wanted to do but never had the extra money to buy up some broodmares and then breed them. I was thinking if I do things this way I would not have the cost of breeding or all the other expensives that comes with foaling. So I was just curious as to what you guys thought. I have my own barn and plenty of space to keep them so there would be no boarding costs involved. And I have raised weanlings before so I am experienced with young horses and I have also started my horses under saddle before. This is a big step for me. Hubby is all for it and I have all of his support. So what do you guys think?

| Senior Member+ | I think if this is something YOU have always wanted to do then go for it....I would have a contract made up and signed to cover your butt. Just incase of any accidents injuery or death to the horse while in your possesion. So you are not liable. I am sure others can add better info than I can....

| Senior Member+ | Thanks for that advice Lou. My husband is suppose to be checking into all of that to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row. Dreamer the one I am buying for myself is a Han/Paint and the one she is sending me to sell is a Han./Appendix but the mare is 7/8 tb. I have one pic not a real good one I will post of him later. I've got to size it down. Cyn yes that is a good idea and I need to talk to the farm owner about that. Gosh I am so excited the foals should be here in Oct. And it is so nice that they bring them right to my place.

| Senior Member+ | Ok here are some pics. (1) This is Dol Savirt. He is a reg. Hanoverian and he is the sire of the foal they are sending me. (2) This is a pic of Dol's Flannigan and this is the foal they are sending me. It's not a good pic but the only one I have. (3) This is Samual. He is a reg. Hanoverian and his sire is Simply SM who stands at Spruce Meadows. Samual is the sire of the foal I am buying. (4) This is Sir Lancelot he is the foal I am buying. I know the pics of the foals aren't the best but I also have a video of them so I did not pick them from just the pics alone.

| Senior Member+ | I think it's a great opportunity! And just starting out slow with one to train for them is a good idea, so you can see if the arrangement will work out before you take on more. I'd jump on it!

| Senior Member+ | Thanks cowgurly. That was my thoughts too start out slow and not get in over my head. Because in all honesty as much as I am hoping things work out great they may not. But I will never know unless I try.
