Too thick looks gross as well. Just a single line on top and bottom, smudged. You can line the whole eye, into the corners, for a more dramatic look for going out. I've had plenty of people ask me how I do my eyes, and it's really just that simple. Good luck.

I use N.Y.C. dark blue eyeliner it's all that I can get that works.
