need help with chickens

i might be getting some chicken this eveing. my gpa called and told me to come and get them. i have never taken care of chickens. some one please tell me the proper way to care for them. i know that they need a coop off of the ground for night time. would it be safe to trun them out in the same pasture as the horses. do i need a specail vet or can my regular vet treat them. do i need a roster for the hens to lay an egg. omg i know absolutley nothing about raising chickens. anything that anyone can help me with will be greatly appercaited. any great info websites would help also. thanks in advance.

I don't know if this will help but here is a site I found.

http://www.gatewaytovermont.com/thefarm/chickens.htm

The only worry I would have is that I heard that Chickens can cause/agrivate heaves in horses.

Only thing you really have to worry about is the chickens poo ping in the horses hay, or getting stepped on by a horse.

Take pics of the new chickens!

yes if you dont want them to fly..lmao yes chickens can fly...you need to clip tjier wings...just hold them with thier head under your arm..easiest..and clip thier main wing feathers...not to deep cause they will bleed...we ussually leave the first feather so they dont look to silly lol

I wouldn't clip them. They don't usually fly unless they need to get away from something, and they'll usually only flap off the gorund into a nearby tree. Do you have foxes?

Don't clip their wings, leave them alone because if they need to fly up to getaway from a dog or a fox they can. Since you got all roosters just I guess you won't have to worry about eggs..lol. Feed them cracked corn or a mixed grain.
