Clip the sides into a "dressage tail"

You can spray it down with a bit of water, then wrap it before your class, and pull it off before the class. That way it'll stay down a bit. Gel mixed with water in a spray bottle works well

Wont help for this show but get some mane and tail conditioner. From the picture it looks like he rubs his tail. I didn't think you could braid for a western class. Is his deworming up to date. Have you checked for critters? All things that could cause tail rubbing.

well Id give his tail a good shampoo and condition... really get big with the conditioner... really scrub it into the bone. Then rinse well, get some moisturizer, really scrub that in, braid his tail[or have a friend...] and let it sink in. Also, clean his "botton," when "waste" gets stuck to their booty and layers it can get itchy...

before your class do some moisturizing, wrap his tail bone in vet wrap and let sit until right beofre your class. Pull the wrap off, hair spray the flattened hair and hope it worked... lol

oh i got the trick for you!

what you do is when you wash him the night before you vet wrap the tail up there, that way the tail will lie down.

OR another thing you can do is hairspray it down. never hurts to do that!

Be sure when you get home from the show to wash all of the gell and hair spray out of his tail so that it does not start to itch and make him rub his tail even more.
