Need Help Asap!!!!!!!!!

Please somebody respond! My maiden mare had her filly at one am. It is now 2:20. She just now dropped the placenta, but she "runs" from the filly. Every so often she will let the filly rub against her, but when she goes to nurse she turns around. Then she went to get a bite of hay and when filly went to her she pinned her ears and pushed her away.

Could this be that she was still delivering the placenta? Or is she rejecting her?

HELP HELP HELP

Rejecting the filly.. Did she clean the filly after she foaled or just leave it?

You need to get a halter on the mare and get her to stand still and allow the foal to nurse.

she just layed there and rested while the foal was trying to get up. When she finally got up (the foal) the mare just layed there....when the mare did get up, she smelled her, sniffed the ground and then did that funny nose thing in the air.
But just to be on safe side, I will wake hubby up and get him to help me.... Please pray that she accepts her!

If you have a problem getting her to stand still, twitch her or tie a leg up so she has to stand.

But she still was laying her ears back at the filly?

She should be more interested in being mom than eating.
