| Senior Member | Nappy nappy nappy Poco presents a very nice picture, nice shiny coat, smooth mane when combed and brushed out. but once you get to that tail. BAM it hist ya! She has a thick tail. i love it but up near the base it is NAPPY! frizzy nappyness! It looks like it was rubbed or chewed off at some point and it is growing back. but ugh! Is there something I can use or must i hope and wait for it to grow out? I cant use anything expensive, preferably need something I can make at home. Will herble essence conditioner help? ![]()

| Senior Member+ | Healthy Hair Care is great to spritz on with daily grooming. OR...my favorite cool-weather trick: Find bucket and filly it 1/2 way with warm water. Insert tail. Swish around. Squeeze out excess water. Then apply Healthy Hair Care spritzer LOL Wahla! |

| Senior Member | so I can just use a conditioner mix on it and it will help? I dont have a problem with it being long at all, it is nice long and full. i usually cut off about 3-4 inches every two months or so to keep it from dragging.

Chamomile is very soothing to skin, as is tea tree oil, in diluted quantities. Lots of people also use coconut oil on horse's tails. It sounds like your horse has been rubbing his tail - that should be of some concern. He might have sweet itch, pin worm, or some other type of parasite. Last edited by #1A; 05-03-2007 at 10:26 AM. | Senior Member | She hasnt been rubbing her tail. Other wise it would be worse like it was before. I think before I moved her that the baby was chewing on it. She is only 13.2 +/- and the baby was a big baby. chewing and lipping on everyone. Its just now growing back. I also Pulled her tail at one point no doubt the nappyness is due to that as well.
