She is a doll. I would love to rescue all the neglected horses out here in MO, but it just isn't possible. Actually, I would love to have just 1 horse. I don't have one, but I ride all the time, and I work down at a ranch and groom, feed, etc. many different horses. I met a horse this past saturday, and she has really pulled on my heart strings. She is so old ( about 30 ), and can't move around a lot because she has really really bad hoof problems, and doesn't have much energy ( she just stays in her stall, and sometimes goes out on the crossties so we can clean her stalls, and give her a good grooming) I don't know what it is about that old mare, but ever since I have met her, I keep having dreams about her, and can't stop thinking about her. I gave her a good brush down last week, and she wasn't tied up or anything, and she just stood there, and soemtimes she would turn her head and nuzzle my back and arms, and then turn around and just stand there. I wanted to just give her a big kiss, and take her home with me.

the dreams I am having of her start out with me leading her on a lead rope, and then my instuctor comes up and asks me what I want to name her. I don't understand them, because she has a set name ( Dawn), and she belongs to this little bitty, 85 year old man. The little old man doesn't come around much at all ( I haven't seen him in 8 or 9 months), and so I don't know what these dreams mean. I know this is kinda off the topic of "Penny", but if u can help me out to figure out what these dreams mean, please reply to this.

paint-luvr I really don't know what your dream means. Maybe posting a new thread will get more people to reply.

As for Penny, she had her tetanus injection today. Just stood there and didn't even flinch. Such a lovely old girl.

She's going to be quite a looker once she fills out. Poor girl, she looks so sweet but scared. I was going to ask if she was preggers, but I went back & read that she has had lab work done. Good for you for taking care of her!

Still no results on the lab work but then again it has been a long weekend with public holidays thrown into the mix. Hopefully I'll find out soon. Then I can look more closely at feed requirements.

Here are some new photos taken today. She had a bath today (Matt bathed her) in some medicated shampoo and she just stood there quiet as you please. She looks a little fluffy as she's got a longish coat but seems happier.

poor thing
i know she will get better in your capable hands
we have looked at horses (and adopted one)
from the Rspca at Fairfield
if she gets worse you could try there
they are pretty full with the horse flu and all
but they do a really good job

good luck
God Bless you all
