"She's just old".

I hate that. I hear it so many times from so many people who "claim" to be horse people. Or, in excuses about overgrown hooves and such, "they're not being used for anything".

You are so luck to have rescued this beautiful girl. She is so lucky to have you. Unfortunately... not all are as lucky.

ROFL, I don't believe I could say it better .

Please tell us what your feeding program is, besides the hay and pasture. It's inspiring .

She still munches on the hay but prefers to sleep in it

Breakfast and Dinner
2 scoops Mare and Foal Feed
1 scoop Beet pulp (she is not fond of the stuff but will tolerate 1 scoop)
1/3 scoop rice bran (she likes the powdered stuff better than pellets)
1/2 cup corn oil
joint supplement (dinner only)
digestive aid (dinner only)

Lunch
1 scoop beet pulp
1 scoop alfalfa pellets
1 scoop mare and foal

She is such a funny horse... she is now running and bucking all over the pasture. And getting pushy about making sure that you have her treats at medicine time!
