Pictures from horse broker (note auction number) and two years ago with foal Vala. 15 years Paso Fino mare Val. What do you think? I can't post here but look at my images for Val. Thanks a mil! She'll be arriving from PA to No CA soon.

What makes her a rescue? She looks very good to me, good condition, hooves are reasonable.

A horse from an auction is not always a rescue. I would describe it as your new buy.

I agree, but just because she looks good doesn't mean she isn't a rescue. Just because she's not skin and bones, or showing signs of poor upkeep, doesn't mean she isn't. There are many kinds of abuse and neglect.
Not saying that's the case, but just saying.

Very cute girl. I'm no one to critique though!

I'll fill you in on what happened to her and her fellow herd mates. Due to a divorce she was forced through an auction, then another auction all in one week. She and 4 others from her farm in TN ended up at this brokers in PA. This broker does send directly to slaughter, so indeed she was a rescue. They were all saved due to being posted on the broker owned pages through AC4H; or no one would have known what happened to these horses. The broker told Christy from AC4H he wanted "those" horses meaning Pasos out now one way or the other. I've found out she does have a show record and has had 3 foals. She's at a safe farm in PA should be on her way to CA next week. She's very quiet. Her hooves really needed a trim but in good condition. I think she'll be a nice trail horse for me.

sounds like a resuce to me, though not sure why it was even called into question...
