My new foal.

Friday night was a night to remeber. My friends dog had her pups and after 3 days of my mare waxing up she finally gave birth to her little colt 12.15am on Sat morning. We were there. I slept in my car for 3 nights to make sure everything went ok. Luckily we were there as his sac didnt break properly and he was suffocating a little, so we had to step in. And then after an hr of him trying to get up he couldnt so we had to help him find his legs so he could get a drink. Then we let him have a snooze and then we helped him and the mare into the stable for the night where he would be safe and warm.

Got lots of pics, he was about 6hrs old in them and his legs are still funny, but have straitened out heaps since then.

This is the sire

And my mare a few days prior to foaling.

And this is little Hero.

more in a sec.

Apart from a white sock and blaze, this is the only colour we have on him. I was so upset when he came out as all I could see was chestnut, wasnt until we had to help him that we saw the white patch.
