My experience is that three months is plenty early if you are worried about feed and suppliements. Three months is when I try to get my mares on their special feed. I think you should be okay.

I am not as worried about feed as I am her shots and worming schedule. Her old owner thought she had been bred right before she came home but she had actually been bred on an earlier heat and kept where she was to make sure she had settled. I don't think I would be so freaked but this mare had problems with her first foal so i want to be prepared for anything this year. Thanks for the reply |
