I don't know anything about hoof diseases but could it be laminitis? I've gotten lymes diseas before and it didn't have anything to do with my feet lol.

My horse has white line disease and it's something you really want to get a handle on quickly, and work with your farrier to knock it down.

Right now we're keeping his stall super clean and dry, treating his hooves with blu-kote twice a day and having him checked/trimmed every 5 weeks. I'm seeing some big improvement since we got him on mats with generous shavings (read: DRY environment) and hopefully the improvement will continue even if we get the seasonal mud this year. Curing it is mostly about keeping the feet *clean* and *dry* so that the fungus and bacteria can't spread.

Laminitis Is your horse lame? or did he say that he had it, and it is growing out? Laminitis is a serious illness.....that is why they put Barbaro down, because of laminitis....That is something that a vet should look at....Cathy

I'm pretty sure it is......(goes to look it up on google)......Yep. According to google anyway. The only reason I know anything about it is because our neighbor's pony got it.
