Went to the barn tonight, not such a productive night with him although he tried to prove me a liar when I complained earlier about him being "not so flexible" apparently if he wants food bad enough he WILL bend ROFL I have pics to prove it!

Anyways, we decided to work on our girls balance so hubby thru them up on Shah the chubby kid lovin' arab He lead them at the walk and trot, focusing more on how they were sitting and their balance so he stayed in control with the lead rope.

Anyways, this was my oldest daughters first time trotting on him,my little horse nut has done it many times now but the pics were cute so I thought I would share them I am proud of their lack of fear and excitement about the horses!

Yes folks, my arab is still a chunk, better, but a chunk still any way you look at it, I know theres a sleek pretty arab hiding under there somewhere

i think hes pretty. my motto for horses is "fat and happy" lol ... my mare gets thin in the winter time so im always feeding her extra and it follows into the spring.. all that extra really gets to her

thanks, I'm very proud of them. I have an anxiety disorder which has made it very hard to overcome my nerves around the horses and my girls don't bat an eye! I wish when I was their age someone would have taken the time to do that with me, to help learn to balance at different gaits,not use stirrups when trotting etc, if they had then my 9 y/o wouldn't be getting almost as good as me in those depts. LOL

I love that fat and fiesty arab, if I had more nerve I'd have kept him for my own but hes not a fan of adult women LOL He LOVES kids of either gender and men but Lordy put a woman on his back and hes a jumpy grumpy fool LOL

Oh and YES they should have had helmets on, bad me, I didn't even think about it until it was over and could have kicked myself for not getting them out!

Those are great pics! I love the one in the round pen ( I think it is a round pen) where he is sneaking the grass! so cute. Your daughter looks very nice up there! I know what you mean about anxiety, it has taken me some time to get over mine too , dont worry, it will subside eventually, just remember to take deep breaths.
