My first ODE of the season!!

Well following this thread

Lots of good results for Amber

where i meantioned that i was off to a ODE last weekend

here is what happened

I had to get up at 4:30

which was very hard. leave at 6! after finishing plaiting amber mane and doing her tail! We left 15 minutes late

We got to the venue, and as we drove past the SJ. A tractor was trying to flatten the evidence of the previous days competition so that it seemed jumpable. They were failing

. The Arena was brown, they had moved the jumps, but at this point i was thanking that i did have an early time!

Course was really nice, with most jumps at only 1m, 1 spread at 1.05m and a planks at 1.10m (course not supposed to be over 1.05). Walked the XC which was lovely, ground was fine as it is on sand really. Big course with not many questions, except for a drop with 4/5 strides to a skinny tripple brush (which i have never jumped before).

Dressage warm-up went well, especially as on previous days amber was determined she had forgotten to bend!

. The test itself didn't really start with any sparkle, but after the canter it seemed to get better. So came out moderately pleased, exclaiming it could of been better and it wasn't the best test she had done.

SJ warm-up was horendous, you thought the actually arena was bad, the warm up was a mud bath.
Jumped a few jumps, went in, cantering to the first fence, i hear my dressage score 25.5!!!! (74.5%)

I did a double take

Amber pinged the course, especially the planks (this was the bogey fence) and recorded a good clear round.

XC amber loved, didn't stop pulling all the way around. Didn't look at a single jump. We finished clear , 1 second inside the time (how jamy am i)

Next a 2 hour wait , till i hear i won my section

8 penalties ahead of 2nd place. I won £80 and came home a very happy bunny.
