My colt- before and after

I "rescued" this little man last winter, he had been weaned early and bought by a lady who lost interest in him after 6 weeks and put him in a field without food or shelter.. I dont know what you do in the US but here thats not how I would winter a foal! Here is him the day I took him :

Anyway I took him on although I couldnt really afford to at the time, I put him on hard feed, he grazed during the day and came in every night, and was looking better by Spring so i took him to a show where he came 1st..I was so shocked but looking back on the pictures he looked gorgeous. He is grazing at a friends house 1 hour away from me at the moment so I dont get to see him much these days but at least I know hes getting the best! He is a yearling Welsh section C (pony of cob type) and i think he has a long way to go before he is looking in as good condition as he could but he has at least had a push in the right direction now.

Here is a pic the day of the show:

Comments welcome about his condition and conformation. thanks x

He is SOOO GORGEOUS!!! I love Welsh Ponies (especially the C's) Good for you to take him home, give him some good groceries, and help him blossom into the beauty that he is today.

No critique on him at all. He's got a beautiful head/face...love his eyes. And a smooth, well-put-together body and good bone.

Congrats!
