Sorry to sound ignorant, but is this stallion REALLY worth the aggrivation of putting up with all this?!? And like Shannon said, how will you even know if she was bred to the stallion you wanted her bred to?

That part is easy once the foal is here... get the offspring parentage verified.

Shannon,

A contract is a contract (not that I agree if it wasn't the mare owner's fault) but that's why things are always wrote out in black and white (to protect the stallion owner and/or mare owner). And, as Irideazip pointed out, what she's going through isn't worth the semen being shipped...I wouldn't care if it was a 6x World Champion who's only sired World Champions, if they're not willing to ship good that are useable, then I'd cut my loss early and find another stallion owner who's easier to work with.

I do not think that they give any kind of LFG, do they? I would have the mare owners vet call the BM and raise **** about it. There is no excuse for bad semen with the kind of a breeding fee.

LFG wouldn't qualify under that (bad semen) but damaged goods sure does..... although, not knowing the actual motility and progressive motility of the shipment when it was received by the mare owner, it may be a little hard to prove unless it was all documented and sent to the stallion manager at the time of AI. The least they can do is recollect at their expense and ship (your expense).

Yes, you can do that but once the foal is on the ground there isn't much you can do about it...whats done is done.
Plus, if this Stallion Manager is this hard to work with can you imagine how difficult it will be to get access to the stallion if there is a question as to who really is the foal's sire.

I think this stallion is worth one more try, considering the time and $$$ invested so far. I wouldn't flush the contract just yet.

Also, this might not be a viable follicle. If she's holding onto it, then the shiping mix-up is besides the point--unprofessional yes--but it wouldn't change the outcome for this cycle.

Getting frozen in advance sounds like a good option if your repro vet is good. This poor stallion. I can't believe the mess his owners are making out of his career.

Best wishes, fingers crossed.

Well I got my fingers crossed that she takes, and her foal's dna matches the stud that is suppose to be it's sire...good luck...
