my boys are riding, check out the midget lol

OK, my sons have been driving me batty to ride in the arena. Finally we have 2 horses we can do this with I rode around on Casey while my boys took turns trying out Eddie. He was pretty good for them, neither know how to ride so we just walked around. Eddie got stubborn on both of them each once, just didn't want to walk and they were both brave enough to pop him on the rump with the reins and he went lol I got a pic I'm posting where you can see my little guy lifting up the reins to do it lol

I got brave as well and walked Casey OFF the property by myself YAY!! We only went about 40 yds before he balked and tried to come home. I spun him around and did it again until we got past his stopping point and I was the one who decided to stop on a good note baby steps, he's never done that for me before so it was a first for us both

Tom decided to get on Casey to show him he wasn't a threat and Casey did really well, I think he is warming up to him finally
Anyways, had a great day, I wanted to share, my pride was abundant, this is what family time is all about. Tomorrow is girls day, they will both get their chance to ride alone and I WILL take Casey farther out alone, even if it's only 20 ft LOL
Pics will take 2 posts so hod tight so you can see ALL of them

Those are nice pictures. I especially love the third one of the bottom row of the last group you posted.

Sher, that sounds like such a wonderful family time. Good for you for making Casey mind you, you are doing so well with him. The pics are wonderful!

BBJ- All the guys in his band have funky wild hair, gotta love a good kid whos worst issue is his hair LOL
WE did have a good time together, my girls can't wait for their turn

Expressa- I actually kept my cool today when he did that,he turned, tried trotting for home, I turned him in a circle and one rein stopped him, turned the way I wanted to go with a set point in place and was determined to get there, preferably NOT lying in the road LOL

Great! See that is the type of stuff that I am working on with my gelding. I am slowly getting my confidence back up along with his and it's working fine for us!! I'm taking it slow and we are both adjusting very well. So we can both be happy about our beautiful geldings! LOL By the way, just curious, do you keep your horses at home or do you board them?

we board them. We had a bid accepted on a farm last summer but my husband lost his job and we lost out on the farm This place is 5.9 mies from my house so at least it's close!
I know that short of a distance isn't major to most people but for a timid person like me, on a strong willed horse who likes being at home, it was a MAJOR accompishment LOL
Congrats to you too, slow and steady, if its baby steps, as long as its forward steps thats all that matters to me
