I've got to say this thread brought a tear to my eyes. I am appalled at the way people treat animals. My best friend and I used to go to the auctions and steal the food from the healthy horses and find unused water buckets and bring the unfortuanate horses food and water.

well Bugsy's coggins (my friends horse) says he's 28. But our new one, her coggins says 28, but I have copies of her registration papers, and she's 30, so who really knows. lol Thanks everyone. They are what makes it worth while! |

You all have done a terrific job with the horses. I have only done a couple rescues in my time one of which I have now he is an 8 year old Bay QH he can run like the wind but he couldn't when I first got him he had a bad foot he had a stone bruising but it is well now and he was severely underweight but not as bad as yours but pretty close I bought him from an auction someone had left him on a dry lot but he kind of caught by eye though because he was in a pen with a bunch more geldings and we was looking at the horses and he ran right over to the fence where we were so we would love on him and take care of him so it was an instant bond and I couldn't let a killer buyer buy him I may have paid to muh for him but we will always have a bond and he is not that old either. I paid $250 for him and he looks alot better than he did I have wormed him and his foot is well now and he is running with the other horses and have a grand old time but he needs some work on riding he doesn't like the ideal to much but he'll get over it with work and time. I also bought a horse for $85 dollars that was in his 20's the people I bought him from hated him but he turned out to be an excellent horse that anyone could ride and he didn't have arthiritus either because he hadn't been rode in over 5 years but we got him and started him out again. I have some other's but I guess you all are getting bored with my stories!
