She walked right on the trailer like it was nothing (never been trailered before). At first there was some panic issues but we have a 3 horse slant load and I rode in the back with her. I had to hold her leadrope to keep her facing the front. She reared and thrashed for the first few miles - and not to mention - screamed at the top of her lungs! But after the first few miles she settled right down and hauled like a champ! The ride was an hour and a half and I was really tired, stressed, and COLD by the time we got home! She unloaded like an old pro and walked right to the barn, down the aisle and into her stall. She's eating and drinking good, and is very curious with her surroundings. She's very very SWEET and gentle! I'm so glad she's home - the first few miles had me sweating bullets. I was scared to death she was going to hurt herself. I'm exhausted and now I'm off to read Dawn's post on getting her girl home! Oh yeah - I took pics of her shortly after we got her home so if I have the energy I'll try to get them on picture trail for you to see. [ January 31, 2004, 05:11 PM: Message edited by: Jumpers ] |

Congratulations!!! Is there any way you could post the pictures on something other than picture trail? I really want to see them and I still can't get into pt. |

This is her "granny" babysitting her! lol Serena loves babies so Sweets will go out into Serena's paddock tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. Right now they are just stalled side by side. Serena is a very sweet mare who's an experienced mother so we shouldn't have any problems. These are pics of what she looks like CLEANED UP |

Horsenut - she's a 10 month old, black bay, Arabian filly. Dawn - we only had about 60 miles to travel. It took us forever to get home because my stepdad stopped several times to make sure we were okay. I'm glad he stopped though because stopping for a few minutes seemed to calm her down quite a bit. [ January 31, 2004, 05:51 PM: Message edited by: Jumpers ] |
