MTG smells like BACON!!!!

For real- i bought a little 'sample size' today at TSC, and it really does smell like bacon bits... anyway, I used like...half the bottle on skye today and was wondering- how much do you guys use per usage? lol....and is it really good to use on fungus? Skyes got some scabby...things under her fur (because I'm a neglectful mamma who doesn't groom her enough!) and it's too cold to wash her, so I put the MTG on it. Will that really help? Is there anything else I can put on it to help get rid of the scabs/rain rot? Thanks!~Brit

Trav had a touch of rain rot. 2 applications of MTG, a couple good curryings, and it was gone. It's good stuff.

Use an iodine based solution for the rainrot. It gets rid of them. Though the horse may be a bit tender to touch there for a while. (that iodine burns!) But it works.

Geez, half a bottle? Were we a little excited? Hehe...

I use very little... on manes, for instance, I'll run a line down the root area and then rub it in. Even when I'm being conservative with it, I end up with a lot of it seeping off onto the horse's neck. So I can't imagine what you're in for!

I used MTG on my gelding for fungus, and it caused his hair to fall out every place I put it. I ended up calling the vet when the balled spots turned into open wounds. It was a very ugly mess. A shot of penicillin, some steroids, and about 3 months and the hair came back. Yikes!

MTG stands for Maine Tail Groom it is supposed to cure fungus and cure cuts and scrapes and make the hair come back quickly.
